Crescent Point Energy Corp. is an oil and gas company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Denver, Colorado, United States. The company focuses primarily on light oil production in southern Saskatchewan and the Uinta basin in Utah.

Since inception in 2001, Crescent Point has significantly increased its production to become one of Canada’s largest oil and gas producers. Crescent Point’s three-part business strategy is to develop and enhance its asset base by increasing recovery factors through infill drilling, waterflood optimization and improved technology, to grow by acquiring high-quality, large oil in place pools with production and reserve upside and to manage risk by maintaining a strong balance sheet.

In 2001 Crescent Point Energy began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange as a junior exploration and production company. The company established its core Bakken position in the Williston Basin in 2007 and has since expanded its Three Forks play both north and south of the border. In southwest Saskatchewan, Crescent Point’s largest asset is its Shaunavon resource play, which it consolidated in 2009. The company entered the Uinta Basin in Utah in 2012. Crescent Point began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in 2014 under the same CPG symbol.
