Tempur Sealy International, Inc. (NYSE: TPX) is an American manufacturer of mattresses and bedding products. It was formed when Tempur-Pedic International, a manufacturer of memory foam mattresses acquired its biggest competitor Sealy Corporation in 2012. It is based in Lexington, Kentucky.
Tempur Sealy International, Inc. is the world's largest bedding provider. The company develops, manufactures and markets mattresses, adjustable bases, pillows and other sleep and relaxation products. Combining a proud history and groundbreaking innovation, the company holds some of the most highly recognized brands in the industry: Tempur®, Tempur-Pedic®, Cocoon™ by Sealy, Sealy®, and Stearns & Foster®.
Tempur-Pedic International, Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of mattresses and pillows made from viscoelastic foam. The company is headquartered on the Coldstream Research Campus in Lexington, Kentucky and has manufacturing plants in Duffield, Virginia, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Sealy (formerly the Sealy Corporation) is a brand of mattresses marketed and sold by Tempur Sealy International. Sealy draws its name from the city where the Sealy Corporation originally started, Sealy, Texas. Sealy sells the majority of its mattresses under its three main brands, Sealy Posturepedic, Stearns & Foster and Bassett. There are licensees operating in Australia, Argentina, Bahamas, Colombia, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
